How can I find liability insurance for a building contractor?
I'm looking for liability insurance for a contractor who specializes in home remodeling for people with dissabilities?

- Your local insurance agencies should have Contractor Insurance information. It is not cheap! You said you are looking for insurance for the contractor? They need to be insured, not you.
- Most small contractors are stuck with the "surplus lines" market these days. The insurance industry is terrified of construction defects claims and mold claims, so the garden variety insurers have shut off small contractors. Tradesmen are another story. Electricians, plumbers, and other "specialists" are still welcome in the standard market.
- Contact your Ins. Agent..If he/she does not deal with commercial policies, he/she should be able to refer you to an agent who does.
- Ask him for a Certificate of Insurance, naming you the certificate holder.
- Liability insurance for a general contractor would be covered under a commercial general liability policy, pretty standard in the commercial insurance world. Any agent who deals with commercial insurance will carry this. Keep in mind this type of policy does not cover anything that is being worked on by the contractor, that would be covered under what is known as a builders risk policy. I'm confused as to why you are looking for this policy for the contractor. Any reputable contractor would certainly have a commercial general liability policy and some have builders risk policies.
