can i hire a contractor to begin working on my burned home before a insurance adjuster come out?

  1. I am an insurance adjuster. I don't recommend it. Your adjuster will need to verify the cause of loss and will need photos to support the claim. I can only adjust what I can see and if you've removed it, I can't see it. I ran into so much of this in Florida working Charlie and Ivan claims in 2004. I really don't recommend it and for goodness sake, don't toss your destroyed or damaged personal property into the dumpster until it's been properly accounted for, photographed if necessary (the adjuster will decide) and the property has been recorded.   3. yes, but listen , if you do, how will adjuster know ,what wrong, so i suggest you take pictures, tons of them and submit them asap, by fax, then instruct your guy ,to start work , if not ,you will be holding the baby ,as in payment ,from the insurance people, they can be mean . one more point ,they mite settle ,and tel lyou to rebuild, new i would call, them find out
