Home Improvement Contractor - Licensed Contractors

Need contractors insurance for small scale residential work?

How much should I expect to pay? Insurance seems a little bit intimidating

  1. There's no way to give you an idea of the premium, since it depends on where you are, where you work, if you use subs, what limits you want, etc. etc.
  2. Well, small scale is relative. If you're subbing out ANYTHING, expect the GL to start at $2,000. If you do any roofing or exterior work, expect the GL to start at $2,000. Workers comp, for any exterior, is going to start at $1500, and for interior, $500 depending on what you do. If you have any employees, or any uninsured subcontractors, it's going to be higher - maybe a lot higher. A local, independent agent can sit down and explain all this to you. BUT, a word of warning - all these policies are AUDITABLE, so be sure you're comparing the RATE, not the PREMIUM.
  3. I can quote you over the phone email me your number and the time to call. Steve@PatriotFS.com
