I want to become an independent contractor as a security guard what do I need to get started?

1. The only thing you will be required to have is commercial insurance if you plan on being in your vehicle on the premises. This will cover any damage should you accidentally cause damage to property such as landscaping, mailboxes, homes, etc. You will probably want to have some references, so try short stints with companies you have an "in" with so you can build a reference resume.
