Home Improvement Contractor - Licensed Contractors

What is the white stuff that contractors smear on the inside of windows when they are remodeling a store?

No, I'm familiar with Chauking. It's the stuff on the window itself. Someone told me it is shaving cream. It is to block out anyone trying to look in to see what is being done to the property inside.

  1. its caulking to seal the windows from the rain and wind coming in. contractors also do this in homes or any where that they install windows.
  2. I think some use car wax, then scrap it off with a razor.
  3. Its cheap water based paint. The kind they use at grammar schools to paint the windows for the holidays. Wipe it on with a spong take it off with a spong
  4. its silicone sealant.
  5. It has been for years and probably still is liquid shoe polish. It goes on easy, doesn't run, dries to the touch quickly and cleans up in a heart beat. It's amazing the things you remember when you get old. :-)
