How do I remove EIFS (stucco) from aluminum clad windows?
A customer of mine recently had some home remodeling done and the EIFS (synthetic stucco, such as Dryvit) contractor splattered the stucco over the aluminum clad window frames and sashes. The windows are Hurd brand with a powder-coat finish. How might that be removed without scratching the window finish?

- Carefully scrape it off with a flat razor blade. You should be able to get most off without damaging the powder coat. Just go slowly and be sure to keep the blade the flat so you don't dig into the finish. Another thing to do is call the contractor back to clean this up. It is the contractor's responsibility to return the jobsite back to the condition it was in before he got there...i.e. anything damaged or dirty that isn't supposed to be is part of his job to correct at no charge to the client
