Where can I get information on grounding an electric panel for a SFR? I just had my house copper repiped.?
The inspector requested to see that the electric panel was grounded to the new copper plumbing. The contractor I hired says they don't do that and I should call an electrician. I'm all out of funds after spending so much with the plumbing contractor and must pass inspection so the contractor will patch up their work.

- Refer to the electric code for your state which you can find at any public library.
- If you just got your house completely re-plum to copper, then do this.start at your water meter below the meter on the 3/4" pipe and above the meter in stall two pipe grounding clamps, the main panel must have a continued grounding conductor,it slips threw the screw hole on top of meter, then ends in the clamp below, with out cutting it.just peel off the insulation.if you have installed a charcoal filter,do the same bond both ends with to 1/2" clamps. Now run a #six cable from grounding block to copper pipe. All clamps and grounding conductor is at your hardware store, before I go I hope you in staled 3/4" copper right up to your hot water heater, in CAN. that is done All the time. Cheque the Code ask questions they don't bite....
