What is the difference in cost by using an employee vs Independent Contractor?
A company wants to hire me as an employee rather than as an independent contractor. What are the extra costs associated with being an employee? I want to remain an independent contractor.

- Well, as an employee, they have to pay benefits (pension, 401k that type of thing). As far as you're concerned, if you are an employee, they have more say in what you do during your day. Where as if you were an independent contractor, once you finished your contract, you'd be free to move on.
