I am a contractor and home improvement specialist of 28 years experience. I wonder why people do not check..?
I often wonder why people do not check on references before they hire a contractor then complain about getting ripped off or left out in the cold later on? It is seldom people check on my excellent references before making a decision and I am dumbfounded to earn they hire someone else and did not check on my or the winning bidders references?? Why is that?

- Personally, I assume that a bad contractor would be giving me fake references (their friends and relatives). How can I, as a consumer, actually trust the references given to me? Typically, I check them out with the Better Business Bureau.
