Does anyone know the average labor rate for a painting contractor, i know it would vary by region.?

Just looking for an average price per hour, for a professional painter and or building contractor

I've been a painting contractor for twenty plus years. The price per hour greatly varies depending on the area you are in. It also varies depending on the quality of the contractor that you hire. Some states require a painting license and other do not. This factors into the rate as well. For example, I work in the Denver area and I charge $40.00 per hour plus expenses and materials. This is because I only offer the best of quality and the best of materials. In Denver you will find others that will offer anywhere from $15.00 an hour and up. The most most important point is that you research the painters references!!!! I provide each of my potential customers with a list of 40 references and have the means to provide hundreds more. Also, that you get at least 3 if not more estimates. Most painters do not charge for an estimate (I do not) and it is worth your time to research each painter and to receive as many estimates as you have time for.
