What do you need a florida painting contractor licence for. Why can't you just get a occupatonal license and g I was told to that you need a florida state painting contractors license.But why when all of the other painters only get a occupational license and go to work. The license requires you to take a 2 day test witch is 18 hours long and very difficult . I know some people have it and know what it looks like but don't know why they need it .

- You need it because the law states that you do.
- I haven't found any source for "florida painting contractor license" with the state board of regulation. Each County has licensing requirements...along with the occupational license----we are currently looking into going into the business (again) here in Florida...we are from out of state. If anyone knows different please share....
