My husband is a painting contractor. What health concerns should he have?

I know he runs the risk of falling from elevated surfaces and lead removal carries risks but I worry, even with a mask breathing in the paint fumes. He wears a respirator when spraying removing & paint but nothing when he's brushing or rolling.

2. He has to break often when in tight spaces, like closets, small bathrooms, etc. even with masks. I once got "high" and wondered why my boss dragged me outside! Found out that oxygen deprivation was at work! Brushing and rolling in ventilated spaces are okay, but fumes can add up during a day's work. The respirator is a very good idea, as often as he can afford it. And it's better to have someone else working with you who knows the job. Working "at heights" seems to be different for all of us; I handled the second story on a thin ladder okay but higher was a problem for me. All people working heights seem to be v-e-r-y careful and take everything one slow little step at a time.
