I have hung the drywall in my basement but need someone to finish the taping and sanding but I can't get anyone to do take the job? Any suggestions?

- Most drywall contractors will not tape and finish drywall that someone else hung. They complain that finishing DIY jobs require to much taping and because it was hung in properly. So it's best to either do the whole job yourself or contract it all out.
- www.craigslist.com there many different types of personal adds there.look in skilled trades.or place an add
- A lot of contractors will not take the job as they do not want to be responsible for any problems that may happen later down the road. You may want to look for a painter or painting contractor now - they are the ones who do the finishing work and they may also want you to sign a contract that states you did the acutal dry wall hanging and they will not be responsible for any damages that occur due to any problems with that end of the project. You can see if there are any schools in your area that have these painter who would like the instructor to bring them over and watch over the job or look up your local painters union and see if there are any people in there who would like the job as a side job. You could try your local college for any students that are doing that sort of work now, in the phone book for painters and drywall finishers, though I do believe the painters are what you need. (My brother has been a painter for 30 years now and that sounds like what they do to prep for the painting). Good luck with your project, hope it turns out awesome.
- Hi Erin, Most of the residential finishers in my area are Hispanic. They are usually hard workers looking to make money anyway they can. Find a subdivision under construction, find a guy with drywall mud on his clothes, and ask for someone who speaks English. You will find someone to do the work. :)
- My Dad and I run a small remodeling company. We belong to a service magic.com. This is how people find us all the time no matter how big ar small the project is. We can except the lead or decline so that way it does not waist my time or yours. I think you will find this site very help full as long as you are serious about doing the work. They do charge the contractor a fee for taking the lead so please do it only if you are serious. If you do try it they will give you three contractors that will contact you. I think you will be very happy! Good Luck!
