We need to hire a contractor to replace our home's weatherstripping. How much should we pay?
We got an estimate but we dont know how much we really should be paying. We got a quote of $250 for 2 doors. Is that too much?

- there's no way of telling from here - too much variation in prices between cities, states, parts of the world, etc. rather than asking in here, i'd ask in my neighborhood, go to a hardware store and ask a freindly clerk. and by all means, get 3 estimates. won't cost you anything and may save you hundreds.
- The weatherstripping on exterior doors is rather easy to replace, but the parts can start to add up. The door jamb weatherstripping can be from 5-15 per piece, and you would need 3 pieces total. Are they replacing the door sill weatherstripping? Add another 10-15. Are they adding a door sweep? Add another 10-15. 250 sounds a little on the high side to me, the job shouldnt take more than a couple of hours
