CA Unemployment Insurance Eligibility for Independent Contractor?
Through all of 2008 I was working full-time for a company as an independent contractor (non-employee). I was recently let go along with a number of other employees and contractors. Am I eligible for unemployment insurance compensation?

- Unfortunately you are not, just due to the fact that you were an independent contractor and not part of the company's payroll. Best of Luck !
- Did you, as a self employed person, PAY unemployment taxes to the state? If not, no, you're not eligible.
