Where do you stand if you need windows fixed midway through their 10 year guarantee?

The window contractor went bankrupt last year but the main contractor is still around. Surely it is not up to the main contractor to standby these windows? Is it?

1. Typically the warranty is through the manufacturer of the window. Contact the main contractor he should be able to help you
2. Contact the mfr. Most guarantees are pro rated so you may have to absorb some of the cost for repair or replacement
