After hurricane Ike we hired a roofing contractor. we payed him half up front. my husband took off work .?

They did not show up for two days. we had no choose , because we had already payed half. while installing the roof they fell threw the ceiling. left a hugh hole in the living room. they did not repair it, we had to. do we have to pay the remaining balance.

1. The first half is deposit and the remaining balance is paid upon completion of work. If they do not complete work, they will not get paid. They should of known better not to fall in. You should sue them for what they did to you guys. http://www.surehandsusa.com.
2. For any future repairs and/or remodeling you'd like to do or need to do, make sure you get referrals. My friends and I all network together for these types of issues. And you should always get at least 2-3 bids. There are so many contractors who will take advantage of you. You need to make sure they are licensed and are registered with Better Business Bureau.
