What is the starting pay for a skilled laborer employed by a general contractor?
In the southeast (U.S.A.), what would a laborer's pay be, if he learned a skill, like roofing, and how often should he get a raise? Also, if he was employed by a contractor for a year and learned the skills he needed, what should his pay be then?

- On average, a construction laborer (which is what your example would be considered, really no special pay for learning roofing), makes about $15 an hour (although employers in the south tend to pay a little less).
