Home Improvement Contractor - Licensed Contractors

laid off as employee; becoming contractor for 3-4 mos. can i refile for unemployment after that since its temp?

i was an employee at a regular corporation & got laid off & receiving unemployment. i have the opportunity to become a contractor somewhere else for 3-4 months and i understand this is considered temp work ... but for how long? i.e. how many months of temp work (if any) disqualifies me from re-activating my unemployment claim when the contractor work ends?

  1. Yes as long as you were recieivng checks. You will just need to prove that you were gainfuly employed. It doesnt mater how much or how little you worked, just that you did work. The amount that you recieve will likely decrease due to part time being less than full time, but it may not. Im not sure.
