What are my options if a contractor does not honor his contract?
In North Carolina, if a roofing contractor did not complete the job satisfactorily and I have a contract with a lifetime guarantee and my roof is leaking still three months after the job is supposedly done... what agencies can I report him to?

- Better business bureau, and take him to small claims court for damages...
- Civil suit or arbitration, small business association, better business bureau and if you have enough documentation the DA's office for fraud and misrepresentation.
- You could always hire a lawyer and take them to court to sue them for breach of contract.
- Small claims court-if under $5,000
- File a civil suit. Report them to the Better Business Bureau.
- Well, first off, sue him, don't just go reporting it. After you start the process of suing them, report them to the better business bureau, whatever govt department manages licensing contractors, and the state attorney general.
- The Better Business Bureau is a start. If there is a local trade union that he belongs to you could report him there also. If he wont honor a contract, your best bet is to take him to court. Start with small claims court.
- you need to take him to judge judy lol she will fix his ass but really sue him
- Legally, you can give them the option to fix the leaky roof. (If you want your money back.) If they try, and fail, you can take them to small claims court and get your money back, even plus what it would cost another company to repair it.
- From what you said he breached the contract, unless you missed some fine print, because contractors like doing that(lol i used to be one). If its all there, then he is in breach of contract, and you have the option of filing a lawsuit in a small claims court.
- The Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General of your state (probably better luck with the AG). Should contact a lawyer specializing in contracts to see what the options are. If the contractor is "fly by night", your options may be limited.
- THE STATE REGISTRAR OF CONTRACTORS. THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.COMPANY'S PUT UP A BOND WITH THE STATE TO BE LICENSED AND ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THEM. THEY DON'T WANT A MARK ON THEIR RECORD FOR NOT SOLVING DIFFERENCES WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.GOOD LUCK..
- Better Business Bureau, or I believe there is a Department of Consumer Affairs that can help you mediate this before having to take the contractor to court p.s. try googling department of consumer affairs along with your state or use yahoo! search good luck
