Need Help with Apartment transfer?

My building went thru renavation adding a boiler and hot water heating units plus apt. makeover. The contractor vented the exhaust thru the side of the building beneath my bedroom window which has caused me to become sick from the day the hea and water heater were activated. I have been sick since Oct. 7 2006 until the present time. I have asked to transfer from my apartment for health reasons and the Adminestrater of the building has refused to transfer me. I have a written responce from the V.A. Hospital stating that I should be moved for health reasons and they still refuse. The fumes still enter my apt. and all my clothing are saturated with the smell and residue from the exhaust emmited from the boiler room. What can you do to help me with my quality of HEALTH ? Respectfully Charles Calloway

  1. You need to call your local Health Department or city housing department and file a complaint against the landlord with them. You don't have to put up with this.
  2. Oh My Goodness! You should contact your local health department, building inspector etc. You can contact a lawyer through the VA; more than likely you'll be compensated for what you've gone through. You just need to contact the right people.
