Home Improvement Contractor - Licensed Contractors

Looking for career descriptions. Not sure what career to get into. Please help?

I am a 22 year old female. I went to school for Surgical Technology. They pay well and it is ok. But was not fully happy in that field. I was thinking about becoming an electrician because it is something useful to learn and you constantly do something everyday. But I was told that females would probably have a hard time finding a job. And also it might be to much labor when I do decide to have a baby. I would like to know what type of jobs are out there where you pretty much constantly do something and don't get bored at work. A job where you might constantly do something new. At the same time also earn good pay. But also no jobs where they require too much school. Like a doctor, a lawyer, or architect. Maybe a general contractor?

  1. With a medical background you might be able to get a job at a fitness center. For big bucks try pharmaceutical rep
  2. PL85, While I understand what you are asking, I want to suggest something. Write down, on a piece of paper, two columns. One column is "Love to do", the other is "Hate to do". Then list out at least 25 things in each column. After a while you are going to find that your "Love" list is going to point in a particular direction, just as your "Hate" list will. Going to work every day is never fun when you end up in a job that has more of your "Hate" items than "Love' items, so use these lists to come up with clear statements for your career path. Example: (and you should write this down for yourself and read it often till you have the job that will make you most happy) I will be working for (a company, myselft, with a partner, etc) doing (whatever your Love list points to doing) which will allow me to (list a benefit) along with (list another benefit) and (another benefit). This will allow me to earn money while also (allowing me to love getting up, allowing me to work with my best friend, allowing me to help the environment, allowing me to XXXXXX) which is VERY important to me. This is a short example, but once you have this information, you know what your dream job is, you know how you want it to work, you know the benefits that will come from it and you know that you will be helping others in some way, you have got to clearly write it down and read it often. Put a date of when you expect to be doing this and then work to find it by that date. You are going to be doing work of some kind for the rest of your life...but if it's something that you love to do, it won't be like work, it'll be like playing every day. The happiest people are doing what they love.... Start there, it may give you the answer to your question without needing suggestions from others.
