what is the standard remodel contractors warranties in new york?

Im having a an addition build to my exsisting structure to include electrical, plumbing, windows and roofing. The contractor originaly wanted to provide me with a 3 mounth coverage but i feel this is inadiqute, however he is willing to go to 6 mounths is this the standard or a should i ask for more.

I am a general contractor and most of the time I discuss the warrantie with my clients. 3 months is a standard however for a serious home addition (which should stand for another 50 years) even he should give longer warranties. I give usually 5 years limited warranty on home addition which means if anything breaks, cracks, occurs due to the quality of my workmanship I repair it, rebuild it for free of charge. Some contractor on the other hand does not give any written warranties. Just read your question back if he does the roof he should give minimum 5 years warranty on that.
