Home Improvement Contractor - Licensed Contractors

Where can I find a lot of contractors (roofers, plumbers, electricians, etc.) who need insurance?

I am looking for leads. I sell General Liability, Workers Comp., Bonding, Tool Coverage, etc. and I need to know where I can get some good leads.

  1. You must be new to the business. otherwise you would know how to advertise. Every licensed contractor is required to have insurance. Really what you are looking for is to win the business away from their current company. Start in the phone book under contractors and start calling.
  2. go to any work site and offer information. Just be sure to catch them at breaks or after work. Don't interfere with the job or the boss will put his boot in your back pocket.
  3. well lets see construction sites, building supply places. new housing place's. hope you can sell better than you can prospect.
  4. You can't use Y/A to advertise. You're going to wind up losing your account - is it really worth it?
  5. What you need is a marketing plan. You are an independent contractor, so you need to find and old timer in your office that is willing to assist you or your office manager for tips on how to market your services. I can not believe that a business would be on the Do Not Call List, how ever if they are and you happen to call one you and your company can be sued. You and your company can be charged $11,000 per telephone call made. One suggested looking in the telephone book, that is a good idea, you might write them a letter and tell them you are comparing insurance in the area and you want a copy of their insurance so you can give them a comparison and see if you can save them money. You might cold call at the office and compare policies. You could also go to the local county recorder's office where business entities do a Doing Business As (DBA) Find the new contractors, plumbers, roofers and others that you thing might want your services. You can either cold call at their office or write a letter to them offering to do their insurance needs. I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck. "FIGHT ON"
