Is a licensed contractor required to use licensed subcontractors?
We think that our general contractor used unlicensed subcontractors for our job. Is this legal? Who is liable for any problems with the work done by the subs?

- In our State the licensed contractor can be the umbrella for his/her subs. The liability would be on the Contractor. good luck
- It would be legal for him to actually hire unlicensed subs, but he will be liable for the workmanship performed. He has a license and any work performed by subs that are unlicensed become his responsibility. Good luck.
