How do I estimate drywall costs by a contractor?
I'm just getting ready to get bids on drywalling a room in my house and I need to know how much to expect. The room is 12x8 and needs all four walls done plus the ceiling. The total square footage of drywall to be done is 472 square feet. I need it hung, taped and textured. How much should I expect the bids to come in at? What's a reasonable cost per square foot for a small drywall job? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

- Add 22% of the price of material (material includes everything like drywall, tape , compund, screws ETC.)..........
- The below address should take you to a site that has a calculator for figuring out how much the material cost will be...you just plug in the square footage etc...Depending on where you live is going to vary on the cost of the labor...The average cost of labor around where I live is any where from $25-50 an hour...depending on the contractor's experience...Hope this helps, and God bless! p.s. if you are physically able, you should try doing the project yourself...it's fairly simple...just a thought... www.csgnetwork.com/drywallcalc.html You know what, I put in that address, and it's not coming up...Just put : "drywall cost" into the search bar, and the first option will be for the calculator...sorry
- The project shoulds cost around $2000. With no demolition...
